The fuselage designed, in this original way, has been developed to permit the adoption of the two powerful tandem rotors and the oversized propellers. Thanks to the two rotors and the strong aerodynamic structure, the H-21 became a real and reliable "workhorse" able to successfully perform the most demanding transport tasks in any kind of environments. Widely used by the United States Army since the first half of the 50s, it was also deployed in the Vietnamese operation theater for use in transporting troops and tactical supplies since 1961. 1:48 BO 105 / PAH.1

The model BO 105 / PAH.1 in scale 1/48 has a length of about 275 mm. Decals for 3 versions The light twin turbine engine helicopter Bo 105 was developed by German industry in the early 70s and it has been set up to perform either civil or military purposes. The Bo 105 has been recognized to have a good level of reliability and steadiness. However, the most important strengths was the high flight maneuverability. Thanks to all these positive features, enhanced by two turbines capable of delivering 313 kW each, from the Bo 105 frame has been developed an armed version for German Army with the project name PAH-1 (which stand for Panzerabwehrhubschrauber; tank-defense helicopter). In details, the PAH-1 was able to fulfill its anti-tank duties thanks to the dedicated equipment and the weapons system based on the wire-guided Euromissile HOT. Furthermore, produced from the ‘70s to the first years of 2000, the Bo 105 gained a good commercial success and equipped the Armies of several countries.

1:48 AB 212 /UH 1N

The model Bell AB 212 /UH 1N in 1/48 scale has a length of about 362 mm. Decals for 3 versions. The UH-1N was developed from a project of the US based Bell Helicopter company at the end of the 60s. In Italy, a similar version is produced on license by Agusta Westland under the designation AB-212. The AB-212 is a medium, two-blade rotor powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6T turbo shaft power turbines providing 1.342 Kw. It is a development of model 205, the main difference being an elongated fuselage. In the first half of the 2000s, the AB 212 was massively updated to enhance its operational capacity. It has been fitted with two 7,62mm swivelling machine guns on the tailgates, and the defensive equipment has been upgraded with antimissile flare launchers and additional ceramic and kevlar armour to protect the crew. Italian AB 212s with this upgraded configuration are employed since 2006 in Afghanistan, in the International Security Assistance Force mission.

The Huey was extensively used during the Vietnam conflict by the U.S. Forces, mainly in support and attack sorties equipped with various armament. Thanks to its reliability and robust construction the UH-1 was quickly aquired by the armed forces of many countries (among others Italy, Japan, Sweden, and Holland).
