In 1943, the Bf 109 entered service, while its performance was less then stellar, its worth derived from the ability to be easily modified into dedicated fighter bomber, high altitude interceptor or reconnaissance. Likewise great care was taken to make sure the G6 could fit heavy armament for attacking bombers, which were beginning to appear in force over Germany, and the shortcoming of the Fw 190’s at high altitude became increasingly apparent. Kurt Tank, the designer of the venerable Fw-190 lineup quickly realized by 1943 that the field of aerial warfare was changing rapidly. The world had moved on beyond dive bombers, and the allies had begun forming massive, four engine bomber wings that devastated. Axis ground troops and factories. At the time, Fw-190’s played similar rolls to the American P-47 Thunderbolts, serving as ground attack planes and low altitude interceptors. Detailed Plastic Kit of model

The F4 Corsair is considered to be one of the most successful carrier-based fighter aircraft to be developed during the Second World War, although, when it first came into service, the technical experts of the U.S Navy considered this large cantilever wing aircraft to be unsuitable for use on aircraft carriers. The Corsair obtained many outstanding aerial victories. In the Pacific Ocean theatre alone, the F4U shot down over 2,000 Japanese aircraft, with a loss of only 189 Corsairs, resulting in a kill / loss ratio which has never been equaled throughout history. This aircraft was produced for ten years, until December 1952, a fact which established the Corsair as the American aircraft to remain in production for the longest period of time after the Second World War. The F4 was also used extensively by the French Naval Aviation during the war in Indochina and the Suez campaign of 1956.

In spite of its mediocre characteristics it achieved considerable fame through the psychological impact it had on the population and on the enemy forces. Never before has such massive employment of aircraft been experienced. The success of the Stukas during the first phase of the war was due to total air supremacy guaranteed by the Luftwaffe fighters which permitted the Stukas to operate without being disturbed by enemy aircraft. During the battle of Britain the myth of the JU-87 was re-dimensioned due to the supremacy of British fighter aircraft. Nevertheless the Stukas operated until the end of the war from the African theater to Russia.

It entered service during the sixties and it is one of the most famous airplanes of the military aviation history. From the ‘60s to the ‘80s it was widely used by the United Kingdom and was produced, in numerous dedicated versions, to serve both the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force performing air defense, close support, ground attack and reconnaissance tasks. The Royal Navy started to use the Phantom in 1964 to replace the obsolete Sea Vixen with the specific duty to guarantee the fleet air defense and with the intention to have the capability to operate from the decks of the British aircraft carriers. Very similar to the versions produced in the United States, the Phantom FG.1 and FGR.2, produced in Great Britain, were characterized by the adoption of Rolls-Royce "Spey" engines instead of the American GE J79.

Article number: 510001427 Product: 1:72 MiG-21 Bis SUPER DECALS FOR 4 VERSIONS - COLOR INSTRUCTIONS SHEET The Soviet fighter Mikoyan-Gurevich Mig-21 is the most widely produced supersonic jet aircraft in aviation history. Commonly known as ‘Fishbed’, the aircraft was a mid-1950’s aeronautical project which in its design followed the natural evolution of arrowwing fighters. The delta wing, shape, high speed, the tremendous manoeuvrability, the weapons variety and its load capacity, had been the principal factors of its commercial success. In fact, the Mig-21 routinely equipped the fighter squadrons of the Soviet Union and the then Warsaw Pact countries. Beyond Europe the fighter was also widely acquired and operated by global allies of the Soviet Union over a period of many years. The Mig-21 ‘Bis’ version was one of the most technically advanced of its type. Thanks to its powerful Tumansky jet engine the ‘Fishbed’ was able to attain a maximum speed of 2.100 Km/h. Its principal armament was a 23 mm cannon and four underwing areas to load a wide array of further weaponry. The Mig-21’s operational life has been very extensive covering conflicts from the 1960’s through to the 1990’s. Detailed Plastic Kit

The design was to also include much better protection for the pilot by having increased armor around the cockpit, however this increased it’s weight substantially. It was the first American fighter to receive more than the standard x6 .50 caliber M2 Browning Machine guns, a total of 8 all together. The P-47N-15 can in many ways be considered an more specialized fighter version of the P-47D series of fighters, being built solely for a boom and zoom strategy. The key difference separating the P-47N from both the D-series and other planes in general at the battle rating is it’s top speed and maneuverability. bordering on just below 800 km/h, and with an airframe that can support it. This, coupled with its 8 devastating M2 .50 Brownings make it an extremely deadly and dangerous opponent.

It was developed on the airframe of the single-seat fighter P-80, from which it differed by a longer fuselage. The design was simple and practical with the famous "T" shape characterizes by its straight and low wing. The United States Air Force used the T-33 to perform advanced pilot training tasks until the early 1960s when it was progressively replaced by the most advanced Northrop T-38 Talon. Compared to P-80, the T-33 adopted a lighter armament formed by only 2 0.50 (12.7 mm.) machine guns). Its reliability has allowed the T-33 to obtain rapid diffusion in numerous air forces that employed the plane not only for training activities but also in operational missions. €45.99

Article number: 510001282 Product: 1:72 XB-70 Valkyrie Model Dim.: 79 cm Decal for one version. In the Cold War era the dream of every strategist was to own a bomber with the load capacity and autonomy of the B-52 able to fly faster than the B-58 and so the B-70 programme came into being. After years on the drawing board, and cutthroat competition between Boeing and North American Aviation, the latter’s design won the heated competition in December 1957, with an order for the first 30 aircraft to be in service by 1965. In 1959, however, it became clear that the still untested B-70 would not survive the new aerial combat scene technology and the programme was cut back to a minimum. Two prototypes were finally constructed, the first of which took to the air in September 1964, and the XB-70 Valkyries showed themselves able to fly at speeds exceeding Mach 3. Today they are considered by many scholars and airplane buffs to be the most beautiful aircraft ever constructed.

1:72 F-104 G "Recce"

€13.99

The model F-104 G Recce in 1/72 scale has a length of about 231 mm. Decals for 3 versions. The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most famous fighters in the history of aviation and also one with the longest operational life: its history began at the end of the 50s and ended, for some air forces, in mid 2000s. Its unique airframe, with slender fuselage and very little wing surface, made this aircraft ideal as an interceptor. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79-GE-11A afterburning turbojet engine, it could exceed Mach 2,2 with an excellent rate of climb. But it wasn't very maneuverable and difficult to pilot. The F-104G Starfighter was produced on license by several European aviation industries. From the mid 60s, it became the standard interceptor for many NATO countries including Italy, Germany, Holland, Greece, and Turkey. The armament was basically the same found on previous versions, with a 20mm Vulcan cannon and the option to fit under the wings air-to-air missiles, bombs, or additional fuel tanks to increase the airplane's range. With time, reconnaissance duties were added to the traditional interceptor service. The F-104G was therefore fitted with a dedicated "Orpheus" reconnaissance external pod that gave excellent operational results.
