1:100 Sd. Kfz. 222 Panzerwagen

4,29 €

Art.Nr.: 500786157 Art.bezeichnung: 1:100 Sd. Kfz. 222 Panzerwagen Size: 4,6 cm Parts: 18 No glue required The German military built nearly 1000 of the light armored reconnaissance vehicle Sk. Kfz. 222. The vehicle's 80 kilometer per hour road top speed and 40 kilometer per hour cross country top speed made it a valuable compliment for panzer units that needed a reliable recon vehicle. It performed excellently in countries with good roads, like Western Europe, but struggled in the Eastern Front and North Africa because of its poor off-road performance. Based on a typical heavy off-road truck, the Sk. Kfz. 222 was equipped with 5 to 8 mm of armor plate and a turret-mounted 20mm KwK 30 L/55 autocannon and a 7.92 mm machine gun. Though it would eventually be replaced by more rugged half-tracks for the recon role, it did impress the Soviet's enough to inspire their own BA-64 armored car. Art.Nr.: 500786123 Art.bezeichnung: 1:144 WWII Wargame AddOn Dt. JU-87 Stuka Size: 7,5 cm Parts: 8 No glue required In many ways, the famous Junkers Ju-87 Sturzkampfflugzeug (dive bomber)'better known by its nickname Stuka'was the symbol of German air power during World War II. Created by Hermann Pohlmann in 1935, this deadly attack aircraft made its first appearance in the Luftwaffe's Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War. With its distinctive inverted gull wings, fixed landing gear, and wing-mounted Jericho Trumpet sirens, the mere sight of a Stuka struck fear in Germany's enemies. The Stuka was designed to drop its payload as it reached the bottom of an almost vertical dive, which was controlled automatically by the airplane's mechanical systems. This allowed it to hit ground targets with remarkable accuracy. It also sported a pair of 7.92mm machine guns that it could use for strafing runs. But while the Ju-87 featured innovative engineering, was sturdy, reliable, and very effective against ground targets, it was very vulnerable to fighter aircraft because of its poor maneuverability, slow speed, and lack of defensive weapons. During the war with the Soviets, as Germany lost air superiority, the Ju-87 proved too vulnerable to Soviet fighters, and was gradually replaced by the Focke-Wulf Fw 190. Since the middle of the XV century the Austrian family of Habsburgs had been chosen invariably for the throne of the Holy Roman Empire. In connection with the Turkish invasion of the Central Europe importance of the House greatly increased. Since the XVI till XVIII century in opinion of contemporaries they were like a shield protected the Western Europe from incursion of Moslems. In the first half of the XVII century the Austrian infantry had been organized in accordance with directions given by Morris von Nassau, who was founder of the Netherlands army which was the most progressive during that time. Infantry battalion had been included 550 persons. 250 pike- men were in the center of formation, 240 musketry were in positions at flanks and 60 were in the line of skirmishers. Skirmishers were to fire during countermarch, and that required a highest skill and coherence of actions of soldiery, but at the same time it was a way to keep the strength of continuous fire. In case of threat from cavalry musketry were to shelter behind ranks of pikemen without breaking of formation. On a battlefield battalions had been arranged in three echelons similar to battle formation of the Roman legions. Such arrangement had been given no obstructions during maneuvering of separate detachments and had been allowed to give a support to each other in necessity. These Reforms had excellent results. Starting from the battle of Breitenfeld (1631) the Swedish field artillery became the decisive factor for many of Gustav II Adolf victories. Built to be reliable and maneuverable, the Sherman tank was easy and cheap to mass produce, allowing the Americans to outnumber their enemies. This advantage would more than make up for the fact that late German tanks could easily outclass the smaller M4. Ironically, when the M4 first entered service at El Alamein in North Africa, it's 75mm gun and 93mm of armor was superior to the light and medium German tanks used in that battle. This led American planners to conclude that the Sherman would be good enough to win the war, and there was very little tank development after that time. As heavier (and stronger) German tanks entered the battlefield, the M4 lost its advantage, and became dependent on numbers, artillery support, and air superiority to defeat the superior German designs. Kpfw.IV Ausf.D Size: 5,7 cm Parts: 8 No glue required Developed in the late 1930s, the Panzerkampfwagen IV'more commonly called the Panzer IV'would see service throughout World War II on every major front. Designed under the guidance of the famous tank General Heinz Guderian, this tank would eventually become the main tank of the German army. The Panzer IV was the only German tank that remained in production during the entire war, and more than 8800 were completed by war's end. Originally envisioned as an infantry tank that would be deployed to support infantry formations, the Panzer IV was not designed to fight enemy tanks directly. However, when the German army was confronted by superior Soviet tanks, this robust and reliable was quickly upgraded and converted to the role of tank fighter. The Ausf'hrung D (version D) model of the Panzer IV entered production in 1939 featured improved armor protection compared to earlier models and a machine gun for use against infantry. It's 75mm short-barreled howitzer could fire both high explosive rounds, or Panzergranate armor-piercing shells that could penetrate up to 43mm of armor at ranges up to 700 meters. Model supplied unpainted. Assembly required. This "snap fit" model can be assembled without glue. Includes unit flag and unit card for use with the Art of Tactic WWII game. Historical Notes The Hawker Hurricane was the main British interceptor at the beginning of World War II. Over 14,000 of these planes would be built by the end of the war, and they would serve the Empire in every major theater. The Hurricane was a versatile fighter, serving as bomber escorts during the Battle of France and defending England during the Battle of Britain. Later in the war, the Hurricane was superseded by other designs (most notably the famous Spitfire), though it continued to see use as a ground attack fighter-bomber. Production of the Hawker Hurricane ceased in 1944. The Hurricane Mk-I was the first production model of the airplane. It had fabric-covered wings and body, sported eight .303 machine-guns, and was powered by the famous Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The sturdy and reliable plane had a maximum speed of about 330 mph (550 km/h) and a range of 480 miles (772 km).
